Tech firm’s German tie-up set to solve GDPR ‘headache’

A Hampshire tech specialist is teaming up with one of Germany’s fastest growing digital firms to help the UK stay onside with new EU data protection laws.

Portsmouth-based Transalis has expanded its service portfolio to include AMAGNO’s fully GDPR-compliant solution for end-to-end document and content management. The partnership is being launched to UK visitors at this month’s CEBIT expo in Hanover, the world’s biggest IT and Digital Technology trade fair. Built on the concept of electronic data interchange or EDI, Transalis operates a cloud infrastructure that enables retailers and other companies and organisations to automate supply chain transactions and avoid costly paper-based processes. The platform currently facilitates the exchange of 40 million invoices a year, underpinning £3 billion of stock orders across 32 countries.

Now, through the partnership with German ECM market leader AMAGNO, Transalis is offering UK clients a document and content management system complete with a readily-accessible audit trail that is fully in line with the requirements of GDPR, or General Data Protection Regulation. As well as retailers and suppliers, those set to benefit include all kinds of organisations holding personal data from local authorities, the NHS and government departments to businesses such as law firms, logistics companies and recruitment agencies.

“It’s absolutely essential to look after data protection and security in accordance with the new rules,” said Aniello Sabatino, co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Transalis. “GDPR requires companies and organisations to respond quickly and accurately to information requests about personal data. Such a request can come from anyone at any time and could involve contracts managers, procurement teams and other busy staff devoting precious time and resource to responding. If you are simply relying on a long-winded, manual workflow involving paper documents, files and emails it is likely to be extremely costly and challenging to find and analyse the relevant data you possess quickly. Our partnership with AMAGNO addresses this headache directly. It gives clients an all-in-one digital solution that is fully integrated with our platform and demonstrates GDPR compliance.”

Software developer AMAGNO lets you launch keyword searches from any other app or programme, for almost all file formats in a matter of seconds, and displays your results as large, interactive previews. This enables businesses to find the information they need under GDPR so they can provide, permanently delete, anonymise or edit it as required.

Jens Büscher, AMAGNO Founder and Managing Director, said: “Our Digital Workplace solution is all about liberating people from their analogue and manual ways of working, and helping them take advantage of digitalisation to improve efficiency, productivity, and focus more on the things that matter. Our partnership with Transalis is a natural, exciting move that will help companies and organisations across industries in the UK gain the benefits of greatly enhanced and audit-proof automation, while staying legal around GDPR.”
